Soon under renovation
Refurbishment works in station Parc/Park have begun in 2019. The aim? Making it more accessible.
A renovated and more accessible station
Prior to the actual renovation works, the first step of the project aims to optimise accessibility and security for the users.
By 2021, the station will be made accessible to people with reduced mobility through the installation of four lifts. As such, Parc/Park is one of the Brussels stations that are or will soon be under renovation in order to become fully accessible to persons with reduced mobility.
The first phase of the project has started in April 2019 and involves the creation of an emergency exit, located in Brussels' Park. Unless unforeseen circumstances arise, it will be completed in May 2020.
Works for the installation of the lift between the public highway and the first basement level could then begin in the fall of 2020.
Three lifts will subsequently be installed, and the station dating back to 1969 will be entirely renovated: replacement of the escalators, refurbishment of the walls and floors, integration of a new work of art, etc.
