It's easy and economical
Since 2010, the municipality of Etterbeek has been paying STIB-MIVB season tickets for its permanent staff through the third-party payment system. What do those staff members think about it? "They are very satisfied," says Mélissa Parys, person in charge at the commune. "They no longer have to advance anything when they choose public transport. And they no longer have to renew their season tickets themselves."
Before the start of the third-party payment system, municipal employees were only reimbursed 70% of their costs for commuting by public transport. Back then, most employees bought monthly season tickets to spread their transport expenses. "For me, that meant a lot of administration every month to reimburse everything correctly," says Mélissa. "Fortunately, that is now a distant memory."
Your work easier with Business Portal
"Even when we switched to the third-party payment system of STIB-MIVB, there was still a lot of administration to do", Mélissa further states. "All employees who were entitled to a season ticket came to my office to give me their information. Back then, we collected all the info related to the season tickets orders in an Excel document. Today, fortunately, that's what the Business Portal is for."
Let's imagine that a new employee from the municipality of Etterbeek chooses to travel by train, tram, metro or bus in Brussels or in the outskirts. Mélissa can then quickly and easily request the right season ticket in the Business Portal. This is easy and economical for employees. And what if an employee leaves the company? "Then I can stop that season ticket again in the Business Portal. That's easy, too."
