Close your eyes and picture this: in the 16th century, a pilgrim returns from Palestine. He wanders around in the valley of Schaerbeek. Lush and green. Gently rolling slopes. A stream flowing softly through the landscape. It reminds him of the Valley of Josaphat, a holy place which runs from Jerusalem to the Mount of Olives.

He decides to give the Valley the same name. Today, “Josaphat” is a park. A street. A neighbourhood. And a bus stop. But to discover the hidden gems of Josaphat, you need to look farther than what you can see from the bus windows…
