- Apple mobile application (version 2.10.0)
- Android mobile application (version 2.9.1)
Accessibility statement for the website
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Preparation of this statement
This statement has been prepared on the basis of a full audit of the site carried out by AnySurfer.
AnySurfer has also been involved in the design and development of this website from the outset, to ensure that its content complies with legal accessibility standards. The level of accessibility required complies with WCAG 2.2 criteria, level AA.

The following content is not exempted for the following reasons:

Please contact us if you find an issue not listed above.
Accessibility statement for the mobile application
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
At the moment of writing, our mobile applications are partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially compliant means that some parts of the content do not fully comply with the accessibility standard (see below for further information).
Non-accessible content
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of our mobile applications, the following accessibility issues remain :
- Contrast adjustments: 100%
- Size of the clickable areas: 100%
- Voice alternatives: 80%
- Alternatives for swipe and pinch: 80%
- “Big font” mode: 50%
- Landscape mode: 0%
We advise our customers to use the following alternatives:
- Consult the STIB-MIVB website accessible compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA
- Contact Customer Care
- Ask for assistance from station staff
We provide most of our data as open data so that it can be used by other mobility players operating in Brussels.
Please contact us if you find an issue not listed above.
Improvement plan
Some improvements have already been implemented in the applications following a first audit in 2022, while others are in development. We plan to roll out several accessibility enhancements incrementally until full compliance is met.
- Each new screen designed with accessibility in mind from the very beginning.
- Accessibility upgrade each time a screen is redesigned.
- Correction of all latest voice alternatives found during the tests and search for the best way to read the occupancy information on the stop detail screens.
- Finalisation of the alternatives for swipe and pinch, including:
- the previous/next buttons in the onboarding sequence
- the zoom/unzoom buttons on the map
- Correction of the big font mode.
- Creation of all screens in landscape mode.
- Extensive audit by the end of the year.
- Continuous improvements.
STIB-MIVB’s compliance efforts are being carried out in close operation with associations.
