Bike, scooter, monowheel

Bringing your bike, kick scooter, or monowheel on public transport

Brussels is even more beautiful by bike. Kick off your day with a bicycle ride, then park it safely in one of our secure cycle parks before carrying on your journey with STIB-MIVB. Less traffic stress for you and better air quality for all Brussels residents. Win-win!

Bringing your bike, kick scooter, or monowheel on public transport

You can take the following means of transport with you on our buses, trams, or metros at any time of the day:

  • Foldable bikes and kick scooters (as long as they’re folded)
  • Children’s bicycles
  • Small mobility devices, like a monowheel

Outside peak hours, standard bikes are only welcome on metros and low-floor trams (i.e. vehicles with no steps to board). You don’t need an additional ticket – just a valid transport ticket.

During peak hours, from 7.00 am to 9.00 am and from 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm, bikes are not allowed on our trams and metros. Please park your bike in the secure cycle parks during these hours.

Secure cycle parking

Knowing that your bike is safely parked while you are at work or out and about is a relief. At the Bourse/Beurs and De Brouckère stations you can find secure cycle parks where you can park your bike 24/7 if you have a subscription. Cyclists who already own a spot in a bike box via cycloparking.brussels can also park their bike there safely.

Subscribe to STIB-MIVB cycle parks in one of the following 3 ways:

  1. Scan the QR code at the parking entrance.
  2. Go to the website cycloparking.brussels.
  3. Go to the Bike point Beurs/Bourse located on level -1 in the premetro station Bourse/Beurs. For more information about the bike points, visit the CyCLO website.

You can get an annual subscription to the secure bike park for €15 (classic bike) or for €30 (cargo bike).

How to access the bicycle car parks

Station Bourse/Beurs: take the lift or the stairs with bike gutters on the boulevard Anspach/Anspachlaan (between rue Henri Maus/Henri Mausstraat and rue des Pierres/Steenstraat). Station De Brouckère: You can access the cycle park via the boulevard Adolphe Max/Adolphe Maxlaan on the Place De Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein. Both cycle parks are located on level -1.
