Scope of the project

The renovation on rue E. Stuckens/E. Stuckensstraat and rue H. Van Hamme/H. Van Hammestraat (including the intersection with rue du Tilleul/Lindestraat up to the intersection with rue Frans Pepermans/Frans Pepermansstraat) consists of renovating the drainage system and replacing the tram tracks.

The work will be carried out in several phases to minimise disruption to local residents.

Phasing of the works

The first phase of the work will begin on 17 May 2025. A temporary terminus will be created for tram 55 on Chaussée de Helmet / Helmetsesteenweg.

The work in rue Édouard Stuckens/Edward Stuckensstraat will begin on 21 May 2025 and is expected to last until mid-2026, after which rue H. Van Hamme/H. Van Hammestraat will be renovated as well until mid-2027. The work will be carried out in successive sections.

In 2027, the new tracks will be connected to the end of Chaussée de Helmet/Helmetsesteenweg and the temporary terminus will be removed.

Public transport

During the entire duration of the project, tram 55 will be suspended between the stops “Tilleul / Linde” and “Da Vinci”. Bus lines 59 and 69 will be diverted and reinforced to ensure connections with Da Vinci.
