Project

This project forms an integral part of broader redevelopment project of the commune of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, in which STIB-MIVB acts as a partner. The project aims at creating a more qualitative public space surrounding the metro station. The commune of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean wants to create a sports field near the station as well as gardens (going up to the boulevard Edmond Machtens/Edmond Machtenslaan). We join this project in order to optimise the bus 87 terminus. This bus line is the third most frequented line of the network. The terminus will be relocated along the station, which will in turn free up space in front of the station. Since the bus line will be electrified in 2025, the terminus will host electric charging stations for the buses.

We expect to receive the required permit in the near future.
