Delta station becomes more comfortable and spacious

Works from June 2026 until spring 2027

Delta station is getting a makeover. It remains open during the works and will soon become more comfortable, spacious and accessible.

A more pleasant station

Delta station is getting a major makeover as from June 2026. The works will make the station more comfortable, safer and easier to use, while keeping its typical 1970s architecture.

The works last until spring 2027. The station remains open throughout the project, so you can keep using the station as usual.

More space on the intermediate floor

On the intermediate floor, the former shop and sales desk will be removed. This creates more space and makes it easier to move around, especially near the validation gates.

The floors will also be renewed. The original wall finishes will be preserved and restored.

Artwork back in the spotlight

The artwork Sept Écritures by Pierre Alechinsky and Christian Dotremont will be highlighted again.

Today, it is less visible. Thanks to the Refresh programme, this recognisable piece of the Brussels metro heritage will stand out more clearly.

Transport for all

Accessibility will also improve. Extra tactile paving will be installed on the intermediate floor and in the access corridors.

It will be an addition tothe existing guidance on the platforms and help blind and visually impaired travellers find their way more easily.

More comfort from the entrance

The outdoor entrances will also be refreshed. From the moment you arrive, Delta will feel more welcoming, clearer and safer.

Lighting, escalators, signage, and fire detection systems will also be modernised. This will improve comfort and safety across the whole station.

The Refresh programme

The works at Delta are part of Brussels Mobility’s Refresh programme. It modernises metro stations step by step.

After Diamant and Stockel/Stokkel, Delta is next. Works are also continuing at Maelbeek/Maalbeek, and should be finished in  September 2026.
