Car-Free Sunday: adapted services
On Sunday 20 September
Published on
Mobility Week is back in Brussels and this year we celebrate the 26th edition of Car Free Sunday on 20 September. Aside from a few exceptions, Brussels Capital Region is closed to cars from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm.
To make sure you can move around easily, you can use all STIB-MIVB metros, trams and buses for free and our service is increased.
On foot, by bike or by kick scooter? There's still some traffic on Car Free Sunday, so respect the traffic regulations and watch out for our buses and our trams, that have a longer braking distance.
The metro can be crowded on certain hours. For safety reasons, it's important to respect the audio signal and keep enough distance from the edge of the platform. What's more, a smooth journey starts with letting other passengers get off before you get on.
Want to take along your bike, kick scooter or other mobility device? If possible, fold it to make room for other passengers. Remember: non-foldable bikes are not allowed on buses and trams with steps. Click here for all rules for bikes on STIB-MIVB vehicles.
