A reduced fare for your travels in Brussels?
Is there a cheaper ticket for you? You can get a preferential rate if you belong to one of the following categories:
Students, visually impaired people, carers accompanying disabled people, people with a PRRB status or a social integration income... Some status allow you to travel on our network at a reduced fare, or even for free.
Moreover, there are also age and/or address related preferential fares for children under the age of 12, Brussels residents under the age of 25, people who are at least 65 years old…

PRRB beneficiaries
Do you have a PRRB status recognised by the health insurance funds? Travel on the STIB-MIVB network for €8,10 for a month or €85 for a year. More info about the STIB-MIVB PRRB season ticket
Are you a veteran or do you have a handicap? You should be entitled to the PRRB status: more info at your health insurance company.
Are you also older than 65? You are entitled to a 65+ PRRB season ticket.
Social integration income beneficiaries
Do you benefit from a social integration income (or an equivalent) from a CPAS-OCMW (public welfare centre) of the Brussels-Capital Region? You and your dependants travel for €0 on the STIB-MIVB network.
Visually impaired people
Do you suffer from a visual impairment recognised by the FPS Social Security? You are entitled to a STIB-MIVB season ticket for €0.
Carer accompanying a disabled person
Do you suffer from a disability indicated in the list from SNCB-NMBS and do you need assistance when you travel with public transport? Request your “Free carer” card from SNCB-NMBS. Then you can ask for a STIB-MIVB season for €0 for the person accompanying you.

Children under the age of 6
Until 6 years old, children travel free of charge on the STIB-MIVB network. They do not need a ticket or a season ticket. They must however travel with a person who is at least 12 years old and in possession of a valid ticket or season ticket.
Children between 6 and 12
Until 12 years old, children travel with a season ticket for €0.
Students between 12 and 25
Are you a student younger than 25? In that case, you need a STIB-MIVB or Brupass school season ticket. This will allow you to travel in Brussels with STIB-MIVB for only €12 a year and combine your journeys with the SNCB-NMBS trains, the TEC buses and the De Lijn buses for only €52 a year.

Brussels residents between 18 and 25
Do you live in the Brussels-Capital Region and are you younger than 25? You travel with STIB-MIVB for only €12 a year, even if you are no longer a student. Make sure your address in Brussels is registered as your official address.

Persons aged 65 and over
Are you 65 years old or older? Your STIB-MIVB season ticket only costs €60 a year, or even €12 if your official address is registered in the Brussels Region.
