Tram track renewal

As part of a Brussels Mobility project, we inform you that STIB-MIVB is currently renewing the tram tracks on the chaussée de la Hulpe/Terhulpsesteenweg, between the avenue de la Forêt/Woudlaan and the Boitsfort train station. These works are planned between the 2nd September and the 20th Decembre 2024.

Three work phases

The works are carried out in various phases:

In August 2024: preparatory works and site installation.
From the 2nd Sept. until the 20th Dec. 2024: track renewal and renovation works, with the exception of the crossroad with the avenue des Coccinelles/Lieveheersbeestjeslaan.
From the 19th Oct. until the 3rd Nov. 2024: closure of the crossroad with the avenue des Coccinelles/Lieveheersbeestjeslaan for the track renewal and the renovation works.

General traffic

During the works, the traffic coming from the Boitsfort station to the Hippodrome/Hippodroom is reduced to one traffic lane. Pedestrians and cyclists retain access, as well as the emergency services and the waste removal services. What’s more:

In August, cyclists are diverted on the road along the existing bike path (between the stops Coccinelles/Lieveheersbeestjes and Hippodrome de Boitsfort/Hippodroom van Bosvoorde).
From the 2nd Sept. until the 20th Dec. 2024: the bike path and the parking spaces are unavailable along the tram tracks.
From the 19th Oct. until the 3rd Nov. 2024: the traffic is diverted locally due to the closure of the avenue des Coccinelles/Lieveheersbeestjeslaan.

Louise - Roodebeek

Public transport

Tram line 8 is not operated between Boondael Gare/Boondaal Station and Wiener. A shuttle bus operates the stops between Boondael Gare/Boondaal Station and Wiener, where the tram is operated until Roodebeek.
