Osseghem/Ossegem station

A refresh for more comfort

As part of the Refresh programme, Osseghem/Ossegem station is getting better lighting, improved safety and accessibility – plus a brand-new artwork. Metro service continues as usual.

Works schedule

The works began at the end of 2024 and are expected to be completed by December 2025. Installation of the artwork started on 5 May and will continue until early September.

What’s changing for you

Instead of waiting for a full renovation, Osseghem/Ossegem station – in operation since 1982 – is now benefiting from the Refresh programme. The works include: improved lighting, renewed fire detection systems, repairs to floors and walls, updated signage, and the removal of graffiti.

Improved accessibility

New tactile paving will guide blind and visually impaired passengers more effectively. Benches, doormats and station entrances will also be renewed to enhance comfort for everyone.

An artwork to brighten your journey

A poetic work by Brussels-based artist Sarah Vanagt will bring colour and emotion to the station. It will cover the long platform wall, part of the glass surfaces, and the entrance under the bridge. Inspired by the magical world of marbles, the piece was created with the help of children from the neighbourhood.

Works schedule

The works began at the end of 2024 and are expected to be completed by December 2025. Installation of the artwork started on 5 May and will continue until early September. During this time, metro lines 2 and 6 will continue to serve Osseghem/Ossegem, so the impact on your journey remains limited.
