Tram tracks renewal avenue de Jette/Jetselaan

STIB-MIVB is currently replacing its tram tracks on avenue de Jette/Jetse laan in the area between avenue de Laeken/Lakense laan and avenue des Gloires Nationales/Landsroemlaan. The works are scheduled from 4 November 2024 to 28 March 2025. Afterwards, STIB-MIVB will turf the area until mid-May 2025. 

Work phases, general traffic, and parking restrictions

  • From 4 to 12 November 2024, the traffic lane on the odd-numbered side of avenue de Jette/Jetse laan will be closed between rue Prince Baudouin/Prins Boudewijnstraat and avenue de Laeken/Lakense laan. The even-numbered side of the roadway will remain open.
  • From 4 November 2024 to 27 January 2025, the traffic lane on the even-numbered side of avenue de Jette/Jetse laan will be closed between n° 120A and n° 220. The odd-numbered side of the roadway will remain open. Avenue Paul De Merten/Paul De Mertenlaan and Van Beesen/Van Beesenlaan will become dead ends.
  • From 27 January to 17 February 2025, the junction of avenue de Jette/Jetse laan and avenue Broustin/Broustinlaan will be partially closed. Avenues Giele/Gielelaan and Carton de Wiart/Carton de Wiartlaan will become dead ends.
  • From 17 February to 28 March 2025, the traffic lane on the even-numbered side of avenue de Jette/Jetse laan will be closed between avenue Broustin/Broustinlaan and rue des Archers/Boogschuttersstraat. The odd-numbered side of the roadway will stay open. Rue des Archers/Boogschuttersstraat will become a dead end.

For each phase, diversions will be put in place for vehicles.  Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained, as well as access for emergency services and waste collection.  Parking at Place Reine Astrid/Koningin Astrid Plein will remain accessible. Parking restrictions will apply along the construction area and in adjacent streets throughout the works.

Finally, night works are planned on 8 November 2024 and 28 March 2025.
 

Public transport

Tram lines 9 and 19 will be limited at the stop Miroir/Spiegel (relocated stop). Tram 9 will operate between Groot-Bijgaarden and Simonis, and between Miroir/Spiegel and Roi Baudouin/Koning Boudewijn.  Tram 19 will operate between Miroir/Spiegel and De Wand. A shuttle bus will operate between Simonis and Miroir/Spiegel.

Rue de l'Eglise/Kerkstraat

STIB-MIVB will be carrying out repairs to the tram lanes in rue de l’Église/Kerkstraat, from 3 to 28 February 2025.

General traffic

The works will be conducted on the odd-numbered lane, whereas the even-numbered lane will be used as a worksite zone. As a consequence, rue de l’Église/Kerkstraat will be closed to all traffic. The general traffic will be diverted via the Grand’Route/Grote Baan and rue de Stalle Prolongée/Verlengde Stallestraat.

Rue Joseph Rodts/Jozef Rodtsstraat and rue du Vieux Moulin/Oude Molenstraat will be turned into dead ends.

The north of rue des Trois Rois/Drie Koningenstraat will become a two-way street, with local parking restrictions.

Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained, as well as access for emergency and rubbish removal services.

Parking restrictions

Parking restrictions will be placed at the end of rue du Vieux Moulin/Oude Molenstraat and alongside the worksite area on the even-numbered side of rue de l’Église/Kerkstraat.

The garages and private parking zones located in rue de l’Église/Kerkstraat will be inaccessible.

Public transport

The T-bus 82 will be diverted via Grand'Route/Grote Baan and rue de Stalle Prolongée/Verlengde Stallestraat. The stop Grand’Route/Grote Baan will be replaced in the vicinity of nrs. 303-311 on the Grand’Route/Grote Baan. The stops Rodts and Keyenbempt will be removed.
