Electronic billing
A step toward administrative modernization
In an increasingly digital world, e-invoicing has become an essential tool for administrative simplification. As part of its commitment to modern and efficient processes, STIB-MIVB is joining the Brussels-Capital Region Government’s initiative to promote and expand the use of e-invoicing.
Why choose for electronic billing?
Legal framework
The extension of e-invoicing is governed by a circular published in the Belgian Official Gazette on July 17, 2020. Here are the key deadlines:
For public contracts exceeding €30,000 (excl. VAT):
- Applicable in the special specifications of public contracts published as of September 1, 2020.
- Applicable for invitations to tender or offers launched as of September 1, 2020.
For public contracts below €30,000 (excl. VAT):
- Applicable to the general purchasing terms for contracts initiated as of November 1, 2020.
Transition
During the next few months, we will organise a gradual transition to electronic billing through our new tenders (special conditions in its specifications) but also with an onboarding program with our current suppliers.
This is why it is of the utmost importance that our partners receive a prior approval before they switch to electronic billing
