Where to buy a STIB-MIVB travel ticket?
Do you only take the bus, tram or metro in Brussels occasionally? Here is where you can buy your STIB-MIVB transport ticket.
Contactless payment, GO vending machines, STIB-MIVB points of sale, as well as newsagents and supermarkets selling our transport tickets: you have plenty of choices to find just the ticket for you. Even if you’re a happy-go-lucky traveller or start your journey far from a station.
And if you haven’t had a chance to look it up online, any nearby outlets are also indicated at each stop, at the bottom left of the timetable.

Contactless payment
Travelling without buying your ticket in advance? It is indeed a perfectly valid option. In all our stations and on all our trams and buses you’ll find grey validating machines allowing contactless payment. Here is how it works: you directly validate your trip with your bank card or mobile payment app on your smartphone or smartwatch. Just tap your bank card or smart device and off you go!
The amount of €2.10, which is the price of a single fare, will be debited from your bank account. The daily debit will be capped at €7.5, which is the price of a 1-day ticket. It means that you reach the daily limit from your 4th journey on the same day and that every additional trip on that same day is free of charge.
A specific fare of €7.00 applies for journeys departing from Brussels Airport..
Contactless payment on our grey validating machines is only valid on the STIB-MIVB network.
GO vending machines
All our stations and the main bus and tram stops are equipped with GO vending machines. At these ticket machines you can buy paper transport tickets and reload your MOBIB card. Payment is possible in cash as well as with a bank card.
Need a MOBIB basic card? You can buy one at the red GO ticket vending machines.
Partner shops
Do you prefer to buy from people rather than from a machine or online? Then you’ll be pleased to learn that we have a vast network of sales partners who will gladly receive you in their SHOP to reload your MOBIB personal card or MOBIB basic card. Check where to find a SHOP near you.
These sales partners are mostly newsagents and supermarkets. They sell Brupass 10 journeys, which are tickets that are valid on the networks of the 4 public transport operators (STIB-MIVB, De Lijn, TEC and SNCB-NMBS) but only for travel within the Brussels Region travel zone.
Please note that SHOPs do not sell paper tickets or Brupass 1 journey.
STIB-MIVB points of sales
Do you need further assistance or more information? Our sales agents in our KIOSK and BOOTIK will gladly help you choose the best ticket and provide you any other information you might need, such as advice on the best itinerary or details on travel times.
Online reloading
Do you have a MOBIB card and prefer reloading it before you start your trip? You can easily do so via our online purchase options.
If you use an eID card reader, your ticket will be loaded directly on your MOBIB card. If you don’t have an eID card reader, you can still reload your MOBIB card online, but we advise you to do it at least 4 days before the start of your trip.
