VUB: The third-party payment system of STIB-MIVB is a blessing for our organisation
Known and popular with VUB
Some colleagues might only need a Brupass season ticket while others might need a solution to combine bus and bike. In a large organisation like VUB, managing staff mobility can be challenging. “The third-party payment system of STIB-MIVB gives us a clear overview,”says HR coordinator Daisy Vereycken.
Over 4,000 employees regularly travel to the VUB campuses in Etterbeek and Jette by public transport. “The start of an academic year brings the enrolment of PhD students and this turns mobility into a complex puzzle,” explains Daisy Vereycken, team coordinator for the “People & Organisation” at VUB.
Mobility solutions for each employee
The third-party payment system, which offers the home-to-work transport solutions, is a key resource in solving this puzzle. “We can easily pay for the home-to-work commuting of our employees via the STIB-MIVB Business Portal. This way, they don’t have to advance the costs,” adds Daisy. “Besides, it’s also possible to combine different means of transport. Some need a Brupass XL, whereas for others, a Brupass is enough.”
Coming up with a mobility plan for all the employees is far too complex. “VUB is a large organisation with a wide range of profiles, many of whom don’t necessarily live in Brussels.”
Brief overview
Once employees have expressed their need for a mobility solution, Daisy wants them to benefit from it as quickly as possible. “This process runs smoothly through the STIB-MIVB Business Portal. When I order a season ticket via the Portal, it usually arrives a week later by post. And if I have a problem, I can always reach out to a STIB-MIVB employee.”
Besides orders, Daisy can also easily manage the existing season tickets. “Some colleagues are only here for one academic year, while others work here for a longer period. I get a monthly report of the active season tickets, so I’m always up to date.”
