ROYAL INSTITUTE OF NATURAL SCIENCES (1988)
In the 1980s, during the excavation work at Brussels Midi station, the bones of prehistoric animals (mammoths, deer, bison, etc.), dating back 30,000 years, were unearthed. As such, an agreement to lend out the bones was concluded between the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences and the Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles (STIB). These bone remains have been on display since 1988. The display window was renovated in 2017 and decorated with a scenographic setting, and lighting that enhances the bones.
